JOB VACANCIES AT WILKINSON’S – AN APPRENTICESHIP
Train as an Apprentice. Sign up to an Apprenticeship and secure your future: Get trained: Get a career.
This is the most exciting type of all Job Vacancies at Wilkinson’s.
Myerscough College run the apprenticeship courses, as a result, when you complete the course, you get a recognised qualification. The apprenticeship is built in modules and the training is a mixture of on-line and practical, so we organise work schedules around your course. This means we give you time away from practical work to allow you to complete the tasks and therefore you succeed in the apprenticeship.
Ring Myerscough College to find out about which courses give you the opportunity to work at Wilkinson’s. Then ring us on 01772 783252 and you can discuss everything. We and Myerscough do the paperwork, you sign up and you start your new career.
The apprentice learns different landscaping skills such as laying turf and planting to a set schedule. Qualifications earned allow you to hold professional “tickets” which prove your training. Examples are “tickets “in herbicide treatments and the use of sprayers, use of machinery and identifying plants. So you will learn how to interpret a planting schedule, to choose the correct plants for their environment, to use the correct machinery to prepare the soil and plant them and be qualified to look after them.
In addition to these tickets, you will train for a CSCS card which allows you to work on all types of active construction sites.
